Rachel Li: Board-Certified Family Law Specialist and Compassionate Advocate
Rachel Li is one of a very small number of Asian Pacific attorneys board-certified in Texas Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. A bold and vibrant trial attorney, Rachel brings deep experience and a strategic edge to complex custody litigation, especially when advocating for children. She is known for her empathetic and results-driven approach, helping clients navigate some of their lives’ most emotionally difficult times.
Rachel embraces the true meaning of the title “attorney and counselor. ” She takes time to identify each client’s goals early and helps them overcome legal and personal challenges that may hinder a successful outcome. Her work is grounded in three core values: compassion, strength, and respect.
Expertise in Child Custody and Litigation Strategy
Rachel’s extensive experience advocating for children has given her valuable insight into how courts approach high-conflict custody cases. She has actively worked to reform litigation trends involving Court-appointed attorneys for children, emphasizing appropriate boundaries outlined by the Texas Family Code. Rachel is known for holding Amicus Attorneys and Attorneys Ad Litem accountable to their statutory roles.
A Global Perspective and Personal Insight
Rachel’s professional path is rooted in a broad foundation. Before practicing law, she worked in banking and accounting. Having grown up overseas in a military family, Rachel’s multicultural upbringing informs her unique understanding of people, culture, and family dynamics. Like many of her clients, she has gone through divorce and understands firsthand the emotional toll it takes. This perspective allows her to relate to clients and guide them with empathy and clarity.
The Vision Behind Li Family Law Group
When founding Li Family Law Group, Rachel envisioned a firm built on the principles of Compassion, Integrity, and Commitment:
- Compassion: Clients are often experiencing personal crises. Rachel provides direct, honest advice in a clear, plain-spoken manner to help them feel informed and empowered.
- Integrity: Honesty is at the heart of everything Rachel does. She believes in telling clients what they need to hear, not just what they want, while maintaining professionalism in interactions with courts and opposing counsel.
- Commitment: Rachel and her team are fully dedicated to helping clients achieve their goals through innovative strategy, candid communication, and personalized legal service.
Personalized Legal Representation
Rachel understands that no two families or cases are the same. Some situations require aggressive litigation and strategic boldness, while others benefit from a collaborative, amicable approach. As Managing Partner, she oversees case strategy and ensures every client receives tailored legal support. Li Family Law Group stands as a steadfast guide through the complexities of the legal process.
Rooted in Community and Advocacy
Texas has been Rachel’s home for most of her adult life. She graduated from local universities, raised her family in the DFW Metroplex, and remains deeply committed to serving the community where she lives and works. As one of the few board-certified Asian American family law attorneys in Texas, she advocates for cultural competence and equitable representation for members of the Asian American community.
Rachel was invited to join The Podium, a prestigious organization elevating the voices of Asian American Women Lawyers in the DFW area. She is also a co-founder and past president of the Collin County Women Lawyers Association, where she received the 2019 Trailblazer Award for her leadership and service.
Rachel has been recognized by Texas SuperLawyers in 2023 and was previously named a Texas Rising Star from 2015 to 2018.
A passionate dog lover, Rachel also supports DFW Pug Rescue Club, Inc., where she volunteers in memory of her late pug, Lefty, who once comforted child clients during meetings.
